Spring has sprung

Spring is progressing in the South of England. The snowdrops and crocus have now finished flowering

The daffodils, primroses and anemones are out

Yesterday the tadpoles emerged from their spawn - exactly one month since the spawn was laid

and today we saw our first small white butterfly of the year. Roll on summer!

Lovely signs of spring Helen.
Tadpoles already! I haven't seen any frogspawn yet lol

I love the Anemone. And, like Keith, we have yet to get the spawn!

It is a constant source of delight and amazement how such a small country can be diverse. Here in the Cotswolds, the frogs have only just begun spawning.

However, I did see a Brimstone butterfly the other day. Hopefully, it's prepared for the snow showers they're forecasting for the coming week in this part of the country!

I love primulas and primroses. I started a primularium but it didn't survive where I put it. I shall have another try in a more suitable location.

I shall be interested to see what happens at my pond this year so far as tadpoles are concerned.

I should have stayed in the south west. Only this last two weeks have I seen water.

GB: I find primulas impossible to kill! Even those that got covered in loads of soil from Ian's trench digging are now flowering.
